Dark political drama «Fatherland» was chosen to be presented in ‘Berlin TV Series Festival’ official program. This is another successful step in winning the international audiences for this project. Previous screenings at MIPCOM 2020, MIP Cancun 2020, Digital MIPTV 2021 and ‘Serial Killer’ Festival stirred up many controversies among viewers and buyers. To capture the raw truth, the producers created two versions, one for online audiences with very explosive language and scenes and another, redacted, for FTA TV. The online version premiered during 43rd Moscow International Film Festival and won a special award there.
What makes this project so unique is that the issues portrayed there are tabu in Russia. ‘Fatherland’ exposes corruption, money laundry schemes and power-playing games between the government and criminals.
