NTV LICENSES ‘NOBLE DETECTIVE’ AND ‘SCHUBERT’ TO JAPANESE TV

Two major Japanese TV players — NHK and TransWorld Associates will show NTV crime thrillers on their special channels. The period thriller ‘Noble Detective’ and the modern superhero drama ‘Schubert’ have got top ratings and accumulated great following in Russia and internationally.
The costume criminal drama will air on AXN Mystery channel in Japan, operated jointly between NHK and Sony Pictures Entertainment. NHK is one of the biggest media powerhouses and content producers in the country with vast international reach. AXN Mystery specializes in showing action and crime series to viewers all over the world, which makes this acquisition a great step in presenting brilliant NTV mysteries to diverse audiences.

Another top NTV’s global hit, ‘Schubert’, will go to Japanese VOD content provider Trans World Associates. Established in 1967, the company licenses series for most Japanese VOD platforms. It also handles international and domestic feature film and TV programs distribution. In Japan, Trans World Associates operates across all media and platforms: TV, Internet and mobile. Schubert’ subtitled in Japanese, will shortly appear in the distributor’s catalog.

This is a continuous success for ‘Schubert’ in Asian TV marketplace. The criminal drama about a young man with superhero abilities to solve crimes by listening was previously licensed to Chinese streaming giant Bilibili and became quite popular with their viewers.
