A serial killer convinced he is a Messiah strikes remote villages, inspired by a mysterious book. Veteran detective Alexey Kirsanov must face the case while battling alcohol, a strained marriage, and his wife’s infertility. An eightyear-old boy, a survivor of one of the attacks who remembers nothing, becomes а part of the detective’s family. Using psychological profiling, the team chases leads that constantly mislead them, drawing them deeper into the killer’s twisted mind. As the investigation reaches a deadly climax, the detective must confront the killer to protect his family, while the boy finally finds safety and belonging.
