Three outsiders risk their lives in the epic battle against international smugglers, greedy local politicians, and corrupted police. Sent from Moscow to clean up the mess, created by their predecessors, the newcomers face incredible resistance. The detectives have to stick together to survive constant attacks from within, while still being able to solve crimes. The border town is the epicenter of illegal smuggling, prostitution and drugs. Apart from that, some shady dealings happen at the local cement factory. The former owner is found dead in the lake, and there is a lot of strange things going on there. The outsiders manage to push through, but every step forward brings them another step back — the witnesses get killed or recount their testimonies, the evidence disappears, and the investigators are constantly attacked on a personal level. First, their friend gets kidnapped and killed, then another one is accused of murder yet they persevere and punish those responsible at the end.
