A gangster-cop procedural about a former military intelligence officer held captive by Germans for only 10 hours but nevertheless prosecuted by the Soviet system and imprisoned. He is acquitted and reinstated after a few years but people still look at him with suspicion. He comes back to his hometown to work as a criminal detective. Highly capable and experienced he soon becomes a real force in fighting the gangs and corrupted officials.
